18th January 2011 Project: IEEE P802.15 Working Group for Wireless Personal Area Networks (WPANs) Submission Title: Contra: argument on slide six in document 15-11-0073-00-0007 Date Submitted: 18th January 2010 Source: Joachim W. Walewski Company: Siemens AG Address: Otto-Hahn-Ring 6, Munich, Germany Voice: +49-89-636-45850 E-Mail: joachim.walewski (curly a) siemens.com Re: Document 15-11-0073-00-0007 Abstract: The argument on slide six in 15-11-0073-00-0007 is based on a particular spectral chart of LEDs. I am presenting five charts that show an opposite behaviour (smaller bandwidth in the blue and red, wider bandwidth in the green). I therefore claim that this argument is not based on a comprehensive sample of commercially available LEDs. Purpose: Resolution of CID 29 in 15-10-0975-04-0007 Notice: This document has been prepared to assist the IEEE P802.15. 18th January 2011 Conclusion Argument on slide six in document not based on comprehensive choice of commercially available LEDs and thus of elusive validity. Notice: this is the only argument for the chosen band plan. Side note: claim two on slide three in document 15-11-0073-00-0007 („LEDs are primarily designed for illumination based on color and human eye sensitivity to color.”) is also in conflict with empirical evidence (see contra 1, 2, 4).
