Assignment – Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence In the previous chapter, on the Scientific Revolution and The Enlightenment, we studied how science and new ways of thinking about man’s place in the world spurred people to challenge traditional, accepted traditions.

Assignment – Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence In this chapter, we have studied the English and American Revolutions. In the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence, written by Thomas Jefferson, laid out the reasons for the colonies leaving Great Britain, as well as the founding ideas for the new nation.
