Art Exercise

“Landscape with fall of Icarus” Art Exercise After you have finished the quiz, make a list of things that you notice about the painting below. This can be a messy process. Make a one sentence statement of what this painting is about. Ex: “The Patriot is the story of one man’s journey to become a hero of the American Revolution. Take 10 minutes: Pick 4-7 items from your list and write out some thoughts about why the artist might have chosen to paint them “this way and no other way in this place and no other place. ” if you get stuck move on to another item, try to tie one item to another, etc… Add this to your thinking: “Landscape with fall of Icarus” Write a short paragraph discussing what the journey taught you about this work
