SECURITY SYSTEMS AT IITH The Institute is under Professional Security Cover – 24 x 7 IITH Campus Area is geographically separated into two zones, which are 17 kms apart Kandi Campus ODF Campus

SECURITY SYSTEMS AT IITH All important areas of both the campuses - under Electronic Surveillance Security Officers monitor every activity - 24 x 7 Continuous night patrolling in guard tour system - followed at both campuses All Posts - guarded in 3 shift system, each of 8 hrs duration, to ensue continuity and alertness

KANDI CAMPUS Kandi Campus is spread over an area of 570 acres The entire area is protected by boundary wall/concertina coil or chain linked fencing Only 2 entry/exit points are given to the campus – both with Security Guards deployed 24 x 7 A total of 30 Security Guard posts (90 Security Guards) are maintained – round the clock (by Ex-Army Guards)

KANDI CAMPUS Ex-Army JCO’s – performs the duty of Security Supervisors Commuting of students between both campuses – only by Institute Bus Continuous night patrolling - in guard tour system followed Security Guards deployed - all around hostel blocks and academic building

KANDI GIRLS HOSTEL Security cover for both Girls Hostel – only by Lady Security Guards 2 Lady Security Guards - on duty at any time, in addition to Lady Attenders Separate chain linked fencing - all around the hostel, with only one entry/exit point to provide additional safety

KANDI GIRLS HOSTEL No visitor allowed to meet girls without proper reason and identity Entry and exit registration to hostel is obligatory for students Positive confirmation of all students return by night (as per time) is ensured on a daily basis through feed back system

ODF CAMPUS IIT ODF campus is within the Defence Area - thereby ensuring inherent security and safety Additional protection is provided by building wall/fencing to separate IITH facilities A total of 18 Security Guard posts (54 Security Guards) are maintained – round the clock (by Ex-Army & Civilian Guards) Ex-Army JCO’s – performs the duty of Security Supervisors Lady attenders on duty at any time in Girls Guest House (for interns and visitors)

ESCORT AND MONITORING Special Vehicle under direct control of Security – for Girls’ emergencies Safe movement of Girls’ ensured with this vehicle in the absence of regular transport at night Vehicle is provided with Internal Camera and 3G recording facility Close monitoring is maintained in labs and class rooms in dark hours

SAFETY GUIDELINES No latching from inside (labs/classrooms) Personal rooms in hostel should be locked if unattended Girls are escorted with additional security during late night hours Patrolling maintained in areas of movement of students

ALLIED SECURITY SERVICES RENDERED All emergencies attended at any location Fire fighting assistance and Maintenance and positioning of fire extinguishers at vantage points Assisting transport department for student safety and timely movements Coordinating with hostel/medical department for meeting medical emergencies. Providing security cover for various events conducted by students Escorting during out door visits Educating students on safety and security aspects
