National Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) Medically Unlikely Edits (MUEs) Carrier/FI/MAC Medical Review (MR) Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) Increased introduction of quality initiative programs like PQRS and eRx!

Medicare Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) Beginning January 1, 2013, any eligible provider not participating in the PQRS program will receive a 1.5% reduction in Medicare payments beginning in 2015 Enrollment in the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program incentive qualifies physicians for an additional .5% incentive payment Medicare Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS)

Medicare E-Prescribing (eRx) Program – Adjustments For 2013 1.5% payment adjustments apply to any EP or group who did not participate in the E-Prescribing program in 2011 To avoid the 2014 eRx payment adjustment, individual EPs must have either: Been a successful electronic prescriber in 2012 Reported the G8553 code via claims for at least ten billable MPFSDB services provided from January 1 through June 30, 2013 Medicare E-Prescribing (eRx) Program – Incentives The 2013 incentive payment is .5%. This is the last year of incentives for this program! Successful electronic prescribers who also have at least 10% of their MPFSDB charges comprised of the codes in the denominator of the measure for the reporting period (January 1 through December 31, 2013) will be considered incentive eligible
