#SafeDriver Road Safety, A Major PRIORITY for Total “I stay a safe distance FROM the vehicle IN FRONT” Awareness Meetings, 2017

Road Safety, A Major PRIORITY Road safety is a major priority for Total, which aims to be recognized as a benchmark for HSE. Road accidents remain a leading cause of serious accidents at Total. All accidents can be prevented, especially through shared vigilance. #SafeDriver, an awareness campaign focusing on six topics identified by analyzing accidents over the past few years. Total and Roads, Each Year 700 million* kilometers covered 50 million tons* of goods transported 1.4 million passengers carried * By Total and the contractor fleet #SafeDriver – Awareness Meetings - “I stay a safe distance from the vehicle in front” - 2017

COMMITMENT NO. 3: I STAY A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT #SafeDriver – Awareness Meetings - “I stay a safe distance from the vehicle in front” - 2017

Why you should stay a safe distance from the vehicle in front 1 in 3 severe accidents is caused by the behavior of other people on the road (Group-wide) Simple rules to react in time Keep a safe distance from the vehicle ahead to increase your field of vision and give you enough time to react. At least 3 seconds At least 2 seconds Scan the road and your rearview mirrors frequently for hazards. Be ready to react, by avoiding distracting activities and by putting your foot on the brake pedal when approaching a hazardous area. 2-second rule Foot on the brake pedal #SafeDriver – Awareness Meetings - “I stay a safe distance from the vehicle in front” - 2017

PLUS… See and be seen: Clean the windshield, rearview mirrors and headlights regularly. Adjust rearview mirrors to minimize blind spots. Always use your direction indicator signal before making turns or lane changes.
