When doing an experiment with boiling water, it is important to wear these.

What are safety goggles?

This can be used to separate iron fillings and sand.

What is a magnet?

This allows energy or heat to flow through it.

What is a conductor?

This is an object that is used to measure mass.

What is a triple beam balance?

These are the boiling points and freezing points of water in Celsius.

What is 100 degrees and 0 degrees?

An object that is less dense than water will do this.

What is float?

This is created when you mix sugar and water.

What is a solution?

An example of this would be a bowl of Cheerios and pretzels An example of this would be a bowl of Cheerios and pretzels. Both ingredients keep their same properties.

What is a mixture?

Is this statement true or false Is this statement true or false? An object’s density does not change if it is broken into smaller pieces.

What is true?

This would be an effective way to separate pebbles from sand.

What is a strainer or sifter?

These are the four most common types of force.

What are push, pull, gravity, and friction?

Tug of war uses this force.

What is pull?

A rock that is falling down the side of a mountain is being affected by these three forces.

What are gravity, friction, and wind resistance?

The mass of an object does not change on the moon, but because of different gravities, this property of an object does change.

What is weight?

This is a change in direction or a change in speed.

What is acceleration?

Light travels through a prism and does these two things.

What is spread out and form a rainbow?

This is what you see when you look at yourself in a clear, still pond.

What is a reflection?

Light that hits an object and changes direction (instead of bouncing right back) does this instead of reflect.

What is refract?

When a light switch is turned on, this happens to the circuit.

What is the circuit closes?

This type of energy is produced by the sun.

What is solar energy?

This type of rock is formed when layers of rock are compressed and pressure is applied.

What is a sedimentary rock?

This is formed when plants die, become peat, and are buried under layers of sediment for millions of years.

What is coal?

This is formed when living organisms die, sink to the bottom of a lake or ocean, and become buried under settlement for millions of years.

What is oil and natural gas?

These are four examples of types of inexhaustible resources, that will never run out.

What are wind energy, solar energy, biofuels, and hydro power?

This type of energy uses running water flowing through a dam and turning the blades of a turbine to produce electricity.

What is hydroelectric power?
