Vocabulary Critical Verbs - 1 Pass out Critical Verbs Pre-test. Complete the pre-test over the critical verbs. When finished keep it with you out on your desk. Get your independent reading book out until everyone is finished. We will review and go over it once everyone is finished. The reason why we are looking over these words first is because they are verbs you see in questions and prompts frequently. Many times you have questions over what these words mean.

Critical Verbs #2 (1 minutes) I am going to pass out a list of the critical verbs vocabulary list and definitions. You are to highlight or star the ones you missed. Read carefully. This is a self-evaluation when you are self evaluating you are self- monitoring your learning. Once finished leave out on your desk.

Table of Contents Page Set-Up Label your first section: A. Critical Verbs Section Label your first three pages: Requirements Pg. 1 Pre-Test and List Pg. 2 First Word missed (write actual word) Pg. 3 and every word missed in this section Label the page numbers at the bottom of the page

Section 2- Pre-Fixes

Vocabulary – Notebook – Pre-Fixes There are other ways to determine a meaning of a word – using its pre-fixes. Complete the Pre-Fix -Pre-Test (5 minutes). If you do not know them, just skip it. Self-Evaluate your responses – if its incorrect, highlight or mark a star beside it. If you aren’t sure raise your hand and I will come help you. Glue In

Highlight or start the ones that you missed. Fold the paper in half, hamburger style. On one half write, “Pre-Fix Pre-Test”. On the other half apply glue to it. Glue this into your vocabulary notebook on the TOP of the next page AFTER your last two words from your Critical Verbs #1. PLEASE NOTE: if you have words that you still need to complete, you will need to skip those pages for room Number the page at the bottom.
