April 19-21, 2013 Robins Air Force Base; Warner Robins, GA Friday, April 19th Arrive in Camp after 5:00PM Directions: Robins AFB is off Highway 247, just east of Warner Robins , 16 miles south of Macon. The base is 9 miles east of I-75 exit 146. (Approximately 2.5 hours from Alpharetta). When you arrive at the base, stop at the Main Gate Visitor Center to obtain a base pass from the Security Forces. Please ensure that each vehicle driver has a current copy of the vehicle registration, insurance, and a driver’s license. Guard will direct you to the campsite. Set up camp (Sunset is approximately 8:00PM) Our camping area is the “PAVE PAWS Tiger Den camping facility” – an area reserved exclusively for use by Boy Scout and Girl Scout units. PAVE PAWS has running water, electricity and a covered and lighted pavilion. Pave Paws has no restrooms, but there are port-a-potties located near the campsite for use. (Pack 459 will be arranging for additional port-a-potty units which will be reserved for use by our female campers.) You will need your own camping gear (tents, ground cloths, canopies, grills, etc.). Showers and flush toilets are available at the base gym. The gym itself, however, is off-limits. Friday Night Meals and evening activities are on your own (bring wood for the campfire and s’mores supplies). Coordinate plans with your Den. Note: We may be restricted to using the one central fire ring. Details to be confirmed. Saturday, April 20th Late Arrivals check in and set up camp Breakfast and morning activities are on your own. Coordinate plans with your Den. Most Dens will work together on an achievement, elective or belt loop activity. Afternoon Lunch and Pack activity: At 11:30, we will hike from camp across base and eat lunch at the Museum of Aviation café. After lunch, we will spend the afternoon touring the museum. (Depending on the gate access and distance, we may need to drive. This will be confirmed in advance.) Bring water and hiking sticks. Pack Dinner at the Pavilion in camp (A vegetarian option will be provided) Pack Campfire Each Den should offer a skit or song for the campfire entertainment. Sunday, April 21st Breakfast is on your own. Coordinate plans with your Den. “Scouts Own” nondenominational devotional gathering (optional) Pack out and departure by 10:30AM

If attending, provide the name, date of birth, and indicate adult or child, for each person participating, and pay your Den leader $20 per family Confirm that Medical Forms are on file for everyone attending. Trivia: Why “PAVE PAWS”? PAVE is an Air Force program name relating to electronic systems, while PAWS stands for Phased Array Warning System. It was operated from 1986-1995, and was used to detect submarine-launched ballistic missiles (SLBM’s).
