The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act 1976,1989 -Sanchith Hegde

Drafted in 1976 Gave the EPA authority over hazardous waste generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal Focus was to protect human health and the environment from the dangers of waste disposal, conserve energy and natural resources, and reduce the amount of waste generated.

Amended in 1984-89 1984: focused on reducing the volume of waste and eliminating land disposal of hazardous wastes 1986: gave EPA the ability to address issues regarding storage in underground tank
