Lesson 14 Words with Ending /en/ The following words ends with the sound /en/

Apron: (noun) a piece of clothing that you wear over the clothes to keep the clothes clean while cooking or cleaning. Example: Your shirt is dirty. Why didn’t you put on an apron before cooking?

Button: (noun) small, usually circular object used to fasten something, for example a shirt or coat. Example: I fastened the buttons of my blouse.

Canyon: (noun) a large valley with very steep sides and usually a river flowing along the bottom. Example: He worked his way slowly down the canyon.

Certain: knowing exactly that something is true Example:I feel certain (that) you're doing the right thing.

Chicken: type of bird kept on a farm for its eggs or its meat Example: Fry four chicken joints in a pan with some mushrooms and garlic.

Cardigan: (noun) a piece of clothing, usually made from wool, fastening at the front with buttons, and usually worn over other clothes Example: Put on your red wool cardigan - it'll be nice and warm.
