The Global Gospel There is much emphasis today on “global.” Global warming. Global melt down. Global economics. Global terrorism. Global government.
The Global Gospel The gospel is meant to be global: “15: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16).
The Global Gospel The gospel was globally preached: “5: For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; 6: Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world…” (Col. 1).
The Global Gospel The global intent is seen in the inception: “…and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1: 8).
The Global Gospel The gospel addresses a global problem. A. The problem of sin. “9: What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin (Rom. 3).
The Global Gospel The global remedy for sin. “2: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (I John 2).
The Global Gospel The gospel provides a relationship: “10: Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory” (2 Tim. 2).
The Global Gospel A global means of faith: “17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom. 10).
The Global Gospel The gospel provides a global hope: “4: There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling” (Eph. 4).
The Global Gospel The gospel provides global peace: “12: Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” (Matt. 7).
The Global Gospel The gospel offers one global mediator: “5: For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (I Tim. 2).
The Global Gospel While the Great Commission has been fulfilled, we must not be complacent: “16: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” (Rom. 1).
The Global Gospel Since the gospel is global, it was once delivered: “…it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3).
