Week Beginning Monday 26th February 2018 Stations of the Cross

I Station: Jesus is condemned to death Mark 15:12-13, 15 Pilate again said to them, "Then what shall I do with the man whom you call the King of the Jews?" And they cried out again, "Crucify him." Pilate, wishing to satisfy the crowd, released for them Barabbas; and having scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. Leader: We adore you, O Christ, and we praise you, All: because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Tuesday 27th February 2018 Pilate asks the crowds what he should do with Jesus. They shout, “Crucify him”. Washing his hands he announces, “I am innocent of this man’s blood.” A moments reflection How innocent are we when our sisters and brothers throughout the world are treated unfairly? Even when we have never met them, we have a responsibility towards all people, to ensure they have enough to eat, and clean water to drink.

Let Us Pray Lord Jesus, do not allow us to be among those who act unjustly. Do not allow the strong to take pleasure in evil, injustice and tyranny. Do not allow injustice to condemn the innocent to despair and death. Confirm them in hope and illumine the consciences of those with authority in this world, that they may govern with justice. Amen.
