6S Inter-Generation Project Over the last 6 weeks, 6S has been going to the Gilbertson Day Centre to do Inter-Generation work. We have been there to visit older people at the Centre and last week they came to visit us here. At first we introduced ourselves to the older folk and played some games with them so we got to know them and they got to know us. It was sometimes hard to know how to communicate but over the weeks we got more confident. We also did a different activity each week. We decorated buns, painted stones and did some quizzes and played bingo. Last week the older folk came to Papdale and we entertained them with some gymnastics, ballet, singing and a tune on the fiddle. Ellen and Phebe did ballet and it was a lot of fun. We played music on an iPad and we got our routines from our dance teachers. Isla played the bear creek reel on the fiddle in a group with Hope, Ellen, Elsie and Alex then we all sang some songs for the visitors. I was in a trio with Hope and Izzy. We had some food, scones, pancakes and buns. It was a lot of fun and we got certificates as well. This past 6 weeks we have realised we have gained more confidence in ourselves, had fun and we hope other people can do this in the future.
