Aims and Objectives - Prepare trainees for the privilege and responsibilities of teaching young people Promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils Help each trainee to develop into a ‘Reflective Practitioner’ i.e. evaluate learning in light of pedagogy used (consider is this the most effective way to teach the knowledge/skills to this age range/ability) Ensure trainees address Welsh Government initiatives Develop a sound knowledge of a wide range of issues pertaining to the education of children Much of the responsibility is yours but your mentors and tutors are here to support you with this.

Aims and Objectives To meet the ‘Standards for the Award of Qualified Teacher Status’ (QTS). Ongoing evidence to support these will need to be documented. The Programme will result in you receiving QTS which will enable you to teach in the UK. If you intend to teach elsewhere you need to check with the country if the qualification is recognised.

Safonau proffesiynol newydd ar gyfer addysgu ac arweinyddiaeth Tymor yr haf- cyhoeddir y safonau newydd terfynol ar ôl ystyried ymatebion i’r ymgynghoriad. Medi 2017 – athrawon NEWYDD gymhwyso i’w defnyddio (osgoi cyfarwyddo â Safonau cwbl wahanol). Medi 2018- pob athro cymwysiedig i’w defnyddio (ond gellir eu defnyddio cyn hyn ond nid yw’n orfodol cyn Medi 2018). Medi 2019- darparwyr addysg gychwynnol i ddefnyddio’r Safonau –GORFODOL – ond sicrhau eu bod yn codi ymwybyddiaeth ynglyn â’r Safonau cyn Medi 2019.
New professional standards for teaching and learning Summer term- new standards will be published September 2017 – NQT’s to implement the standards. September 2018- all qualified teachers to use the new standards September 2019- ITT centres to use the standards
Cyfrifoldebau’r Ysgol Mae’n gyfrfifoldeb ar yr ysgol i gefnogi yr hyfforddai er mwyn sicrhau eu bod yn cyflawni gofynion y cwrs RhAG a amlinellir yn y llawlyfr, polisïau a blaenoriaethau LlC gan gynnwys: - cyflogi’r hyfforddai yn llawn amser ar gyflog athro angyhymwysiedig sicrhau fod yr hyfforddai yn addysgu dim mwy na 70% o’r amserlen dysgu sicrhau fod yr hyfforddai yn addysgu trawsdoriad o agweddau o’r cwricwlwm cefnogi’r hyfforddai i lunio ac ymateb i’r cynllun gweithredu cwblhau arsylwadau ffurfiol o’r dysgu a’r addysgu (o leiaf 6 bob tymor) cwblhau adroddiadau crynodol erbyn y dyddiadau a dargedir delio gyda agweddau disgyblaethol
School Responsibilities It is the school’s responsibility to support the trainee in meeting all the requirements of the GTP programme, laid out in the handbook and the WG policies and priorities statement, including: - employing the trainee full time on an unqualified teacher’s salary providing the trainee with no more than a 70% teaching timetable ensuring the trainee has experience in teaching all relevant aspects of the curriculum (trainees are required to teach across two consecutive key stages) supporting the trainee in compiling and completing action plan carrying out formal observations of teaching (at least six per term) completing summative reports by target deadlines dealing with any disciplinary issues
Cyfrifoldebau’r Ysgol adnabod mentor dosbarth trefnu cyfarfodydd wythnosol gyda’r mentor (awr o hyd) gwerthuso ac anodi ffeiliau’r hyfforddai yn gyson a rhoi cymorth a chynhaliaeth i ddiwallu safonau penodol pan fo angen hwyluso’r canlynol: i) arsylwi/addysgu mewn dosbarthiadau eraill ii) arsylwi mewn ysgolion eraill (lleiafrif o 10 diwrnod) ii) sicrhau hyfforddiant ar lefel ysgol yn ôl gofynion y cwrs ac anghenion yr hyfforddai (o leiaf 40 diwrnod)
School Responsibilities allocating a school mentor holding mentors meetings on a weekly basis for an hour carrying out the specified professional meetings evaluating and annotating the trainee files regularly and offer support where necessary to meet the standards required facilitating i) observations/teaching in other classes ii) observations/teaching in other schools (at least 10 days) ii) school based training according to course requirements and needs of the trainee (at least 40 days)
