ASHIKA S ROLL NO: 20

INTRODUCTION The internet of Things (IoT) is a network of physical objects or “things” embedded with electronics, software, sensors and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.

“THINGS….” "Things," in the IoT sense, can refer to a wide variety of devices such as heart monitoring implants, biochip transponders on farm animals, electric clams in coastal waters ,automobiles with built-in sensors, DNA analysis devices for environmental/food/pathogen monitoring or

SENSORS : We are giving our world a digital nervous system SENSORS : We are giving our world a digital nervous system. Location data GPS sensors. Eyes and ears using cameras and microphones, along with sensory organs that measure everything from temperature to pressure changes.

Emerging Trends Miniaturization of devices Wireless Personal Area Networks Things [IPSO] Mobile phones as data capturing devices Low power and energy-neutral devices Handling High Volume and high bandwidth data Autonomic management

Challenges to IOT Deployment of IPV6 – Internet protocol V6 Sensor energy – Developing energy sources for millions even billions of sensors. Standards – Establishing a common set of standards between companies, education systems and nations.

CONCLUSION The Internet gave us the opportunity to connect in ways we could never have dreamed possible. The Internet of Things will take us beyond connection to become part of a living, moving, global nervous system.
