What is Financial Aid Scholarships Grants Federal Work Study Loans Subsidized Unsubsidized

Scholarships Merit based scholarship Must complete the on-line application to an Arizona public university to be considered Apply early! Funding can run out All schools have a net price calculator on their websites to help you determine whether you might be eligible for a merit based scholarship. Use these tools to decide whether you should retake the ACT or SAT and to understand the impact of your grades UofA ASU NAU

Scholarships The third way of obtaining scholarships is by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA

FAFSA By applying for the FAFSA, you may qualify for all four types of financial aid Apply for the FAFSA as soon as October 1st of your senior year Before you apply, you must create a username and password called an FAS ID You must use your parents tax information to complete the FAFSA

Grants Money granted from State or Federal dependent on financial need Does not need to be paid back

Loans Subsidized Loans Unsubsidized Loans Direct Parent PLUS Loans

Federal Work Study Students can work either on-campus or off-campus through a private nonprofit organization or a public agency Undergraduate students are paid by the hour and earn at least the federal minimum wage Income from work-study does not impact future eligibly for financial aid
