Q 1. Read the question carefully. “Eeeekkk! I’ve forgotten something” Which of the following items is not permitted to be taken into the Numeracy test? A. An eraser B. A sharpener C. 2B or HB pencils D. A calculator “Eeeekkk! I’ve forgotten something” – let your supervising teacher know. Other items which students are not permitted to take into the test: :• books, including dictionaries • rulers • coloured pens or pencils • mechanical lead pencils • felt pens • highlighters • correction fluid • glue • reusable adhesive • mobile phones • calculators (other than for the Numeracy Calculator Allowed test) In this part of the test students should use the calculator they currently use at school or are most familiar with. The calculator should not be multifunction or internet accessible. Test administrators should check to ensure that information that might advantage a student has not been stored on the calculators. Ensure you have a reserve supply of calculators for students who do not have their own. © LearningYou

But the questions do get more difficult as you work through the test A. Multiple choice questions are easier than the questions where you need to work out the answer. Not true! Most questions require working out – that is what the blank piece of paper is for. You can ask for more paper if you need it. B. You immediately know the answer for a multiple choice question and can answer them quickly. Most questions require you to do some working - use your blank piece of paper. Not true!
