(insert your club name here) hockey club Hi, my name is XXX and I’m here from XXX Hockey Club to talk to you about hockey. Some of you may have had coaching from one of the coaches from our club in your lessons, I wanted to come and tell the rest of you know about the amazing sport which is hockey. At our club we want to let as many children know about hockey and we would love for people to come and give it a try at XXX Hockey Club. Lets have a look at some facts of the game: Hockey is played with a stick and a ball Two teams play against each other The game can be played on lots of different surfaces, when you play at hockey clubs you tend to play on artificial turf like the pink and blue pitch in the picture. Like football a goal is scored by getting the ball into the net past a goalkeeper who wears lots of padding. You use the stick to move the ball and one of the main differences to football is that you don’t use your feet! The fantastic thing about hockey is that anyone can play, it is a non contact sport, you don’t use your body and it is truly a game for everyone: big, small, tall and short. What is even better is that its a game for both boys and girls, it is played by as many boys as girls in this country and lots of families also play together. Does anyone have any questions about the game? Delete this box and add your club logo here
