2019 World Jamboree JULY 22 – 02 AUGUST Boy Scouts of America USA Contingent The 24th World Scout Jamboree unites the world’s Scouts to promote peace, mutual understanding and respect.

The theme for the 24th World Scout Jamboree is Unlock a New World and was developed by the youth bid team, also known as the Dream Team. This theme speaks to the new adventures, cultures, and friendships that will be shared by Scouts from around the world during the 12-day event in North America, a continent often referenced as a “New World.”

World Jamboree Q&A How can I apply for the 2019 World Scout Jamboree? The application site is now open . You will find the link to apply at https://wsj2019.us How much will it cost? $2500 for participants. IST (staff) $1800 does not include travel* The cost for participants will include travel. To make the WSJ as affordable as possible, there will be no pre-tour or post- tour for the US Contingent. * There is a $100 discount to the last payment if registered by 1/31/18 and all payments are made on time .

World Jamboree Q&A cont. How will we travel to the World Jamboree? Travel will be coordinated by Region. The Northeast Region will travel by bus from Hub Cities (to be determined later) IST (International Service Team, think staff) members will be responsible for their own travel.

World Jamboree Q&A What is the World Scout Jamboree? The WSJ is the largest regular event organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement including Scouts from more than 150 countries around the world. It is an educational event to promote peace and understanding among young people from different cultures Who can Attend the World Scout Jamboree? Participants must be between the ages of 14 and 18. Adults over the age of 18 can serve on the International Service Team (IST) or as unit leaders. All participants, unit leaders and IST must be members of the Boy Scouts of America.

Season of Service The Season of Service, supported by the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), will give every Scout the opportunity to be involved in community service and to share their experiences with others. Starting on 1 June , 2019 and continuing until 21 July, 2019, when the 24th World Scout Jamboree begins at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, U.S.A.
