Key Terms market revolution: economic changes where people buy and sell goods rather than make them for themselves. free enterprise(laissez-faire): economic system in which individuals and businesses control the means of production. Very little government interference. entrepreneurs: businessmen who invested their own money in new industries.

Causes of the Market Revolution New inventions Growth of free enterprise. Entrepreneurs invested their own money.

Effects of the Market Revolution Americans became more dependent on industrialization. Transformed manufacturing, transportation, and communication. Northeast became center of American commerce.
