Autocratic Advantages Decisions are made quickly Everything is completed Good for low skilled employees Disadvantages Motivation for staff is reduced Skills and expertise is wasted Creates a feeling of “them and us”

Democratic Style Managers involve staff in decision making Discussion happens between staff and management Sir Richard Branson

Democratic Advantages Staff are involved and motivated Staff skills can be used Less supervision required Disadvantages Decision making can be slow Lots of meetings required Staff may be inexperienced leading to mistakes
