Neoplasia practice section II

Leiomyosarcoma –gross there is large irregular mass arise from the fundus of the uterus with area of hemorrhage & necrosis

Leiomyosarcoma-microscopically proliferating of malignant spindle cells, the cells are pleomorphic hyperchromatic nuclei & high mitotic figure

Here is an osteosarcoma of bone Here is an osteosarcoma of bone. The large, bulky mass arises in the cortex of the bone and extends outward

Cervix: part of stratified squamous epithelium shows disorderly arranged cells, hyperchromatic nuclei with mitosis but still within the basement membrane Diagnosis: Carcinoma In Situ

There are multitude seeding of small tan tumor nodules seen over the peritoneal surface of the mesentery. Diagnosis: metastatic peritoneal deposits

Multiple irregular malignant glandular tumor partially replacing LN Multiple irregular malignant glandular tumor partially replacing LN. Diagnosis: Metastatic adenocarcinoma in a lymph node.

There is large vessel containing clump of malignant cells, Diagnosis: tumor emboli (Hematogenous spread)

Section of the liver showing multiple different sizes firm whitish grey nodules with foci of necrosis and hemorrhage Diagnosis: secondary in the liver

Sheets & cords of malignant cells over the pleural surface Diagnosis: pleural spread of breast carcinoma
