Goal! The goal of a job is interview is to get a job or another interview. You need to show that you have or you are a: Technical qualifications & background. Good Communicator. Organized and prepared. Logical thinker. Someone who would add value to the organisation. What do these things mean?

Stimulus Who has a part-time job at present? How did you get it? If not, then what would you consider doing? What job do you want in the future? What company do you want to work for? Why do you want to work? What do you ultimately want to achieve? Are you worried about your ability to find a job? Why?

How do you get an interview? Team of advisors. Identify 25 or more companies. Research. Develop a network. (60% of jobs) Employment agency? Uni career centre? Professional functions and trade shows. Classifieds, internet, journals etc. Send out resume & follow up. Target small to mid sized companies. Stay active Volunteer. -How are you going to find a job ?

Should ... Relax. Build rapport. Folder containing company data, extra CV’s, some Q’s you’ve prepared. Dress appropriately. Confirm time and place. Make a strong impression to secretaries etc. Be aware of your surroundings -> culture. Body Language. Handshake. Eye contact. Lean forward, show interest and enthusiasm. Be prepared. Communicate your skills, qualifications and experience. Show how you can improve sales, reduce costs, improve productivity, solve organisational problems. Show your accomplishments. Listen and respond. Plan and prepare. Video yourself. Sell yourself. Send a thankyou note.
