Elimination The removal of waste from the body Done by large intestine, rectum and anus
Parts of the Digestive System 1. Mouth (oral cavity) Teeth chew food Mixes with saliva (salivary gland) to make a bolus Tongue pushes food to back of mouth for swallowing
Parts of the Digestive System Esophagus Muscular tube joining mouth and stomach Lined with tiny hairs (cilia) Muscle contractions (peristalsis) move food at about 5cm per second
