The age of Greeks and Romans, 3 000 BC – 500 AD Summary “to learn” paragraph 1 Small towns and cities: Around 500 BC  approximately 200 small cities in Greece Safe havens (because of walls) The towns consisted of ( = bestaan uit) a temple on a hill (for the god that gave protection) + market square Located near water  for trade overseas Culture: Buildings, paintings, literature and statues were an important part of Greek culture Also the Greeks organised games to put the gods in a good mood
