Mirroring – psychology/neuroscience New understanding about primary intersubjectivity, participant perception and mirror neurons. Simulation of body movements and simulation of mind in conversation partners. Reciprocity.(Bråten 2009)   Mirroring is the behaviour in which one person subconsciously imitates the gesture, speech pattern, or attitude of another. Mirroring often occurs in social situations, particularly in the company of close friends or family. The concept often affects other individual's notions about the individual that is exhibiting mirroring behaviors, which can lead to the individual building rapport with others.(Wikipedia) Tronik, Edward. Multilevel psychobiological meaning making and empathy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGqgGM1AkPw Tronik, Edward. The still face experiment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyRzy7fUVpM Pedagogical dialogue exploits our innately dialogic nature (Bråten 1998), which predisposes us to participation and interaction Not all socialization forms are equal Recognizing non-verbal emotion A research from University of California, Los Angeles, showed that increasing in-person interactions in preteens greatly improves their recognition of non-verbal emotion (Science Daily 2016) Limited face-to-face contact might have negative consequences on our mental health (Psychology Today 2015) Social Learning Theory Most human behavior is learned observationally through modeling: from observing others, one forms an idea of how new behaviors are performed, and on later occasions this coded information serves as a guide for action (Bandura 1977). Learning is a social activity (Bandura; Vygotsky; Lave; Wenger)
