Radiology - Digital Pains of Today Jacob, do you agree in the described pains OPEX costs for XMO (xx/year) and PACS (xx/year) are high Integration/adaptation requests between systems (XMO/PACS) extremely costly / impossible XMO and PACS runs as totally separate systems No data flows between XMO and PACS and between XMO and imaging modalities Patient data such as CPR and name is manually typed into the modality application Radiologists copy/past patient data such as CPR and name from XMO to PACS Images are stored in PACS but interpretation/diagnosis is typed into XMO Workflow cumbersome and slow No automated correlation between patient, CPR, images and diagnoses is a severe route course for mistakes No automated compilation of patient journal, diagnoses and images available Difficult to share patient data, images and descriptions/images with other external stake holders Very limited ways to exchange data electronically with external partners Burning DVD’s with patient journals from XMO and images from PACS very old fashion Sending examination details (incl. DVD’s) with post mail is insecure, slow and expensive

Lower OPEX costs on Patient Journal System (-x%) and PACS (-y%) Modern Patient Journal System (PJS) Integration between phone system and PJS SMS service for patient reminders Patients are requested to type CPR number in cue before phone is answered Patient Journal is automatically shown when answering phone calls Medical referrals received electronically (also fax as PDF) in PJS – no printing and scanning Open PJS architecture and ready for future integrations Much better digital integration between PJS, Modality application software and PACS No manually typing and or copy/paste between the individual applications and systems Patient journals, records, images and diagnosis can be combined electronically Better options for digital sharing of patient related information with external stakeholders Only very limited need for burning DVD’s and sending information via regular post mail
