Some Desires are Stronger When a Person is Young… Attraction to the opposite sex (Gen. 2:18-25; 1 Cor. 7:2-9). Curiosity, leading to investigation... Independence (Gen 2:24-25; Cf. 2 Thess. 3:10).

Youthful Desires Can Become “Harmful Lusts”… "You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Some Desires Become Stronger with Age… Physical security. Financial security. Immortality.

Desires with Age Can Become “Harmful Lusts”…  If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 1 Tim 6:3-4 (NKJV)

Desires with Age Can Become “Harmful Lusts”…  Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. 1 Tim 6:6-9 (NKJV)

Various Lusts… Understand what lust is, and do not mistake it for mere desire. Varying lusts differ from person to person. We must flee lust of any kind, at any age!
