COSMETOLOGY AND BARBERING Entrance Qualifications 1200 Clock Hours – 5 Levels New classes start every Fall A & Spring A Must be at least 16 years of age or have a HS diploma/GED to qualify for financial aid. Our programs are offered on the Daytona and Deltona Campus Deltona: Cosmetology (Day Classes) Daytona: Cosmetology & Barbering (Day & Evening Classes) Day Class Times: M – F 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM Evening Class Times: M – F 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM + 5 Hours Online

Cosmetology & Barbering Dual-enrolled students must purchase kit. Kits are paid for in Student Accounts and they should be instructed to bring receipt to class. The costs of the kits are: Cosmetology: $469.56 Barbering: $550.06 The costs of the kits are under contract for 3 years. I will inform you Kits are distributed the first week of class. They are not purchased in the bookstore. Cosmetology/Barbering students wear a uniform consisting of black scrubs and closed-toe shoes. We are always willing to give tours or if you have a group of students touring the campus, please bring them through our building.

AUTOMOTIVE COLLISION REPAIR & REFINISHING Entrance Qualifications Program is 3 semesters and can be completed in one calendar year Classes run 15 weeks in the Fall, Spring and 10 weeks in Summer The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday 9:00am – 2:10pm for Spring and Fall 8:30am – 4:00pm for Summer Lecture part of the class is online

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY Entrance Qualifications: NATEF Nationally Accredited Program Must have a Florida Driver’s License or State Issued ID Must be a High School graduate or equivalent Must be physically able to perform the duties of the trade Math, Science and Algebra is strongly recommended, but not required Day & Evening Classes are offered and students can enroll at the start of any semester Two Year Program

BUILDING TRADES AND DESIGN CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY Entrance Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older by completion Must have a Florida Driver’s License or State Issued ID Must be a High School graduate or equivalent Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Passing scores are required to achieve a certificate. Must be physically able to perform the duties of the trade Evening Classes are M-Thu, 4:00pm – 9:50pm offered at the ATC. Daytime classes will be offered beginning Spring 2019 from 8am -2 pm Mon-Thurs at the ATC

HVAC Entrance Qualifications Students who do not have a standard high school diploma/GED may be eligible for admission, on an alternative basis, to this program if they meet the following criteria: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). A passing score must be achieved in order to receive a Certificate Classes offered from Mon-Thurs in both evening (4pm-9:50pm) and daytime (8am-2pm) Course length is 2 full semesters and 1 summer for Mechanic, and 3 full semesters and 1 summer for Technician Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to climb a 12-foot ladder. Students who do not have a standard high school diploma/GED cannot receive student financial aid.

MACHINING Entrance Qualifications: Must take the TABE and achieve the specified minimum scores Must meet with a counselor/advisor for placement test evaluation to receive advice on course selection and registration Students who do not have a HS diploma/GED cannot receive financial aid No age requirement Students do not need a Driver’s License for class If student does not have a HS diploma or GED they may be eligible for admission on an alternative basis Evening Courses offered at the ATC from 4pm-9:50 pm Mon-Thurs. Spring 2019 we will open up another course track during the same time slot Continuing Ed classes to be offered this fall at NSB for Cad/Cam I & II (Mastercam) and CNC l & ll.

WELDING TECHNOLOGY Entrance Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a Florida Driver’s License or State Issued ID Ability to understand and follow specific directions. Ability to handle and operate all welding equipment in a safe manner. Students who do not have a standard high school diploma/GED may be eligible for admission, on an alternative basis, to this program if they meet the following criteria: Take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). Meet with a counselor/advisor for placement test evaluation to receive advice on course selection and registration. Students who do not have a standard high school diploma/GED cannot receive student financial aid. A new Evening section is planned for the Spring 2019 semester and a new Advanced Welding program will start in the morning slot. Advanced Welding will be Limited Access for graduates from our existing Welding Program.

APPRENTICESHIPS

CHILD CARE APPRENTICE CERTIFICATE (CCAC) Entrance Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be employed in a private child care center. Must possess GED, high school diploma or certificate. Students attend classes one night a week (Daytona, Deland, or Deltona) along with on the job training. Complete two year program and earn certificate enabling them to be a lead VPK teacher.

MID-FLORIDA G.N.J. NON-UNION ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP Entrance Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a Florida Driver’s License or State Issued ID Must be a High School graduate or equivalent Must be physically able to perform the duties of the trade 4 year program consisting of 2 nights per week (Monday & Wednesday), 3 hours per night 6:30pm – 9:30pm 4 years of on the job training, working for a participating contractor 40 hours a week (Totaling 8,000 hours over 4 years). Classes only start once a year in August Each year of the program consists of a Fall, Spring and Summer semester (No classes, OJT only)

ELECTRICAL APPRENTICESHIP UNION ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS: Potential apprentices must be 18 years of age at the time of the application High School diploma or GED is required Valid Driver’s License Physically able to perform duties of trade One credit of HS Algebra Take the industry’s validated aptitude test Take a drug test prior to employment Application to be completed at: Don Morgan Electrical Academy (Electrical Union Apprenticeship, JATC) office, 5901 S. PLUMBING AND PIPEFITTING APPRENTICESHIP Entrance Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older Must have a Florida Driver’s License or State Issued ID Must be a High School graduate or equivalent Must be physically able to perform the duties of the trade 5 year program with OTJ training Classes are Saturday’s from 7:00am – 5:30pm After applicant is accepted, they are directed to complete the DSC enrollment online Complete application in person M-F between the hours of 8:30am – 11:30am and 1:30pm – 3:30pm at 743 N.
