ADAS Guide to using Eyepieces Produced by Members of the Society, Nov 2017

Eyepieces FAQ What is an eyepiece ? What different types are there ? An eyepiece is the lens added to the end of a Telescope of any type (Refractor, Reflector or Compound) to magnify the image for visual use. What different types are there ? Most eyepieces are fixed focal length and typically ranging from 4mm up to 50mm Some are zoom eyepieces able to change their focal length across a range e.g. 7mm - 21mm Why should I have more than one eyepiece ? To make your telescope have different magnifications Who makes eyepieces ? Bresser Eyepieces Orion Eyepieces Revelation Eyepieces Meade Eyepieces Explore Scientific Eyepieces Baader Eyepieces TeleVue Eyepieces Skywatcher Eyepieces Vixen Eyepieces

Eyepieces FAQ How do I calculate my telescope magnification ? The magnification of any telescope is the focal length of the main telescope divided by the focal length of the eyepiece. e.g. Telescope 1000mm Eyepiece 25mm = 40 x magnification Telescope 500mm Eyepiece 5mm = 100 x magnification Where can I buy eyepieces ? www.telescopehouse.com www.harrisontelescopes.co.uk www.widescreen-centre.co.uk www.rothervalleyoptics.co.uk www.firstlightoptics.com www.f1telescopes.co.uk www.tringastro.co.uk Even www.amazon.co.uk
