Graduation Program 4 credits Courses numbered grade10, 11 or 12 are worth 4 credits A minimum of 80 credits is required to graduate (most students have more to meet Post-Secondary requirements) Must meet all Grad Requirements (required & elective courses)

Admissions Requirements are Changing Starting in 2020! More BC universities are looking toward a broader admissions process to align with the new BC Curriculum This means more courses from Gr. 11 will be considered for admissions It is encouraging students to try more courses and will be looking at Breadth and Depth of courses and experience

Art Courses Studio Arts: Ceramics and Sculpture Studio Arts: Drawing and Painting Studio Arts: Printmaking Studio Arts: Graphic Design Photography Yearbook Drama Film and Television Communication Design (11/12) This is the school community based design program, similar to the independence and deadlines of Yearbook. I hope that students who are interested in this have taken some Graphic Design before but it’s not an absolute must if they are interested. I also hope that we could do some work for businesses in the community as well as within our school! Posters, tickets, logos, brochures, and so on - more of a focus on printed and online materials.

Work Experience This course is designed to prepare students for the transition from school to work or further education and training. Classroom instruction is approximately 20 hours Placement hours are approximately 90 hours Placements may or may not be during school hours Students must be motivated and responsible Work experience course placements are unpaid

Study Block Grade 12 Students: Maximum number of Study blocks Granted = ONE Grade 11 Students: Students are encouraged to be actively involved in eight courses. A Maximum of ONE study block may be granted if The student is enrolled in an extended day course (ie. Choir), The student is taking a Distributed Learning course outside of the timetable. The student is maintaining a heavy academic load that would benefit from a study (permission from parents and administration required).

Please let the Counselling Centre know as soon as possible so the course request for the upcoming year can be changed.
