Academics

LRMS Teaming LRMS has four 6th grade teams. Each team consists of four core teachers: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Students on a specific team have their core classes with only those teachers Teaming allows teachers to better support students as all 4 teachers on a team have the same kids, common planning time and work as a group together Due to the nature of teaming, requests for specific teachers cannot be honored as those teachers may not be on the same team or even the same grade level from year to year

Independent Study (IS) All students except those taking a world language are scheduled to have an Independent Study period. IS meets every-other day for the entire year.  Students are assigned IS with a core teacher on their team. Language Arts and Math teachers use this time to focus on skill development, front loading information, and remediation needs.  Science and Social Studies teachers provide students with core content support or extension activities in their content area. IS can be used for test retakes at the discretion of the teacher.  Independent Study is not a study hall or free time.

Wolf of the Month Responsible Wolf Day Each month, teams recognizes one student for being a model wolf. These students have exemplary academic effort and outstanding conduct. Wolf of the Month honorees are in the running for Wolf of the Year. Each quarter, 2 students per period are recognized by their teachers, for being a good role model.
