Sensationalism Sensationalism is a manner of over-hyping events, being deliberately controversial, loud, self-centred or acting to obtain attention. It is also a form of theatre.

Sensationalism 1 Reading and speaking a Read the headlines. What do you think each story is about? Compare your ideas in groups.

b In pairs, list some of the newspapers, magazines, and TV shows in Saudi Arabia. Which ones do you think are the least reliable? Compare your choice and reasons with those of other pairs.
