A PBL Experience Challenging Problem or Question Sustained Inquiry Project Launch Activities Modeling Reading Direct Instruction Labs Homework Discussions Workshops Research Direct Instruction Interviews Quiz Creating Feedback Revision Direct Instruction Writing Preparing Reflection on Learning Presentation of Learning Sustained Inquiry Discuss the phases of project implementation Phase 1: Project Launch Phase 2: Messy Middle—Inquiry Phase 3: Public Product Phase 4: Reflection As you go over the slide, point out the importance of having a problem or question that will sustain inquiry. Additionally, point out all tasks students complete are aligned to the learning goals and lead to students creating a high-quality product at the end of the project. It is worth mentioning that throughout the project, teachers are formatively assessing student learning and collecting evidence of student learning for grades, to inform instruction, and to provide the necessary support for students/teams who are struggling or require enrichment.
