Kaltura Kaltura is a media hosting platform that allows faculty, students, and staff to share multimedia within a secure environment. Access Kaltura via the My Media link in Canvas, or by going directly to http://kaltura.umkc.edu. Content can be shared to the public, or restricted to specific courses or Organization sites. There are no space or file size limitations in Kaltura, however some browsers have an upload limit of 2 Gigabytes. http://online.umkc.edu/support

Qualtrics Qualtrics is a cloud-based platform for creating and distributing web-based surveys. Use Qualtrics if you want to distribute a one-time survey, or surveys that don’t need to be tracked as part of a large, multi-survey project. All faculty, staff, and students can log into Qualtrics with their UMKC credentials at http://umkc.qualtrics.com. http://online.umkc.edu/support

Turnitin Turnitin provides a web-based plagiarism detection service, which can be used as a deterrent and as a tool to teach students how to work with sources. Turnitin Feedback Studio also includes tools for peer review, automated spelling and grammar review, document annotation and feedback, and grading of student submissions. http://online.umkc.edu/support

Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor Respondus LockDown Browser is a customized browser that increases the security of online tests. If a test requires LockDown Browser, it will not be accessible in any other browser. LockDown Browser prevents any other computer application from running while LockDown Browser is in use. http://online.umkc.edu/support

Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor Respondus Monitor is part of LockDown Browser and can be enabled as part of a test that requires LockDown Browser. It uses a webcam to record the student’s test environment as they take the exam, then flags questionable video segments for instructor review. http://online.umkc.edu/support

Voicethread What is VoiceThread? What can I use it for? A VoiceThread is a collaborative, interactive, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos.
