Attendance Using GradeQuick 9/17/02

Method A Click the Attendance button. Use the drop down boxes to enter Present, (T)ardy or (A)bsent.

Method A Notes Note that only days in white are available for attendance taking (the school year is pre-set for you). Also note that “Present” is entered even if you do not select it, so you only have to enter information for students that are absent or tardy.

Method B Click on the seating chart button. Under Modes make certain that Edit Attendance is selected (checked). Press OK.

Method B Cont’d. 4. Select the date and press OK. 5. On the picture (or seat) for each student, click in the center. One click for Absent (turns blue), a second click for Tardy (turns red).

Finish Method B 6. Close the window (click the X in the upper right of window) to return to the gradebook.

Sending Attendance to CIMS Attendance needs to be sent to the CIMS program for each class on a daily basis. Follow the steps to complete this process: Be certain that you are in the Attendance screen of GradeQuick.

Sending to CIMS Cont’d. 2. Select File, Send Attendance. 3. Use the Date listed (you may need to type in a new date or a range of dates). Press Ok.

Sending to CIMS Cont’d. 4. On the next screen, the computer will indicate the file name that it will use to save your attendance information. Press OK without changing the file name.

Sending to CIMS Cont’d. If the following box pops up, please press Append. A confirmation box will pop up, press Ok.

Correcting Attendance The H code (in the attendance screen) can be used to correct attendance that has already been sent to CIMS

Correcting Attendance cont’d. Select the H for “Here” to correct for an absence or tardy mark. Send the Attendance once again (review previous slides if needed), being certain to include the date that needs to be corrected.
