DAY 1 Opening Prayer

we gather Invitation Leader: Blessed be God, who breathes new life into the Church, who is the source of all change and service, Bless the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.   All: Blessed be God for ever. Lighting of the Candle Leader: We light the candle in hope, with the Light that overcomes darkness and changes hearts.

we gather Opening Prayer Leader: Hold out your hands, God of grace, and receive all that we offer. Take our lives, our love and all that we bring in faith today and use us and our gifts for the well-being of the world. We ask this through Christ our Lord. All: Amen.  

we listen Gospel Reader: A reading from the good news, the Gospel according to Luke.   “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” The Word of the Lord. All: Thanks be to God
