What is the AD-DSL? A list of chemical substances of concern to the aerospace and defence (AD) industry, due to: Direct regulatory compliance obligations imposed on industry companies and Supply chain risks related to regulatory bans/ phase outs of high-risk chemicals The list contains regulated substances that may be needed by the AD industry to make, operate or maintain its products The first declarable substances list for the international AD industry. 11/13/2018

IAEGTM is the sole owner of the AD-DSL Who owns the AD-DSL? IAEGTM is the sole owner of the AD-DSL Developed by the collaborative effort of IAEG companies IAEGTM grants rights to use the AD-DSL for users to assist in managing their obligations The use of the AD-DSL is voluntary and is subject to the IAEGTM Terms of Use, located in the AD-DSL “workbook”. 11/13/2018

How are Chemical Substances included in the AD-DSL? AD-DSL substances are chemicals of concern to the AD industry IAEG reviews current regulations that potentially impact the AD industry to identify: Substances that may be impacted by governmental restrictions and/ or reporting requirements, and Industry dependence on those substances IAEG seeks to anticipate future regulatory impacts, in order to: Lessen the costs of obtaining information Reduce the burden on the industry and its suppliers 11/13/2018

What is the Purpose of the AD-DSL? Ultimately, the goals is for the AD-DSL to be used by AD industry suppliers to provide information on: Chemical substances in the products they provide to their customers Substances required to operate and maintain industry products, to meet regulatory and customer requirements The standard for providing this information is under development Expected to be published in early 2017 The use of the AD-DSL is voluntary and is to be used based on each company’s unilateral business discretion. 11/13/2018

Will the AD-DSL be revised? The AD-DSL is expected to be updated periodically, in order to keep track of regulatory development and industry needs Each revision will be published by IAEG and uniquely numbered The revision control process supports the identification of specific versions of the AD-DSL on contracts. 11/13/2018

Will AD-DSL revisions be announced? Yes – IAEG will announce the release of the latest versions of the AD-DSL The announcements will include a summary of the changes made to the list More detailed change information for specific entries will be included in the current AD-DSL version It is anticipated that any new release will also be covered in appropriate news media channels. 11/13/2018
