Will the Lord Find Faith on Earth? Luke 18:8

The Point - Luke 18:1-8 Context: Persistence in prayer God will answer though He bears long He is going to return – John 14:1-3, Acts 1:11, 2 Peter 3:10 There will be believers – 1 Thess. 4:17, 1 Cor. 15:51, 2 Peter 3:11-13

Will He find? Perseverance and prayer? Luke 11:5-10 1 Thessalonians 5:17 Ephesians 6:18 In our business we need to remind ourselves to pray. We need to find time to pray. We cannot give up on prayer.

Will He find? Justified people A legal term meaning to have a favorable verdict, to be vindicated We are guilty of sin! Romans 3:23, 6:23 By our faith we are justified – Romans 3:24, 5:1-2, Galatians 2:16

Will He find? Justified people Justified through His blood – Romans 5:9, 6:3-4, Revelation 1:5, 1 Corinthians 6:11 How do we come in contact with His blood? Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, etc.

Will He find? Justified people Many today dismiss the importance of baptism. Even some brethren set it aside in pursuit of “unity” and peace We wonder, if this continues, will there be anyone justified when He returns?

Will He find? Purified hearts Genuine and clean. Purified means unpolluted and undiluted. Matthew 5:8 (Psalm 24:4) Acts 15:9, hearts purified by faith (cf. Acts 10:47-48) 1 Peter 1:22

Will He find? Purified hearts Purity is suffering in our society and the hearts of men Corruption is everywhere Lack of integrity is epidemic, even among our leaders – AND THE PEOPLE DON’T CARE!

Will He find? Purified hearts Even among believers, purity is being corrupted in worship, moral living and among leaders. People do not want to be held accountable! We wonder, if this continues, will there be any purity of heart when He returns?

Will He find? Those seeking to please God Hebrews 11:6 Yet, today’s mantra is, “God, what can you do for me?” Too many blame God or villainize Him when they don’t like what happens or His word says. And the numbers keep increasing

Will He find? Those seeking to please God God is NOT pleased when we seek to establish our own righteousness (Rom. 10:1-3, Lev. 10:1-4, 1 Kings 12:25-33, 1 Corinthians 10:5) Even Paul thought he was doing the right thing (Acts 26:9)

Will He find? Those seeking to please God Our goal as Christians is to please God – 2 Corinthians 5:9, Philippians 4:18, 1 Thessalonians 4:1, Hebrews 13:16, etc. We wonder, if this continues, who will man be seeking to please when He returns?

Will He find? Saints struggling to overcome the world 1 John 2:15-17 Our world is becoming increasingly more ungodly. Worldliness can be found everywhere. (1 John 5:19, 2 Timothy 3:12-13) Even among brethren and churches we find this.

Will He find? Saints struggling to overcome the world If we were faced with losing everything we have, would we really stand firm? Be reminded, we are not of the world (cf. John 17:15-16) 1 John 5:4, Romans 12:1-2 Philippians 2:14-15

Will He find? Saints struggling to overcome the world How am I doing in my struggles to overcome the world? We wonder, if this continues, will worldliness be EVERYWHERE when He returns?

Will He find? Those who respect His word? Faith, can be our faith or THE faith – Jude 3, Romans 1:16- 17, Acts 6:7 A lack of respect for God’s word is at the foundation of many of the concerns we have addressed in this lesson. This has an impact on our studies with others!

Will He find? Those who respect His word? Even in churches, God’s word is being compromised (Acts 20:20, 26-27) We MUST respect God’s word! John 17:17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 timothy 3:16-17 Matthew 28:20 Contend – Jude 3, 2 John 9- 11, Ephesians 5:11, etc.

Those who respect His word? Will He find? Those who respect His word? We are certainly concerned with whether or not the Lord will find faith when He returns. We wonder, if this continues, will he find THE FAITH when He returns?

Will He find? Hope of heaven We cannot give up! We have a goal greater than this life. We seek everlasting life – John 3:16, Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:19 2 Timothy 4:6-8 We wonder, if things keep going as they are, will he find men living with this hope when He returns?

In this lesson We have asked some questions about what it will be like when the Lord returns. We have also noted that there will be faith when He returns.

In this lesson The real question is not if there will be faith, but will He find faith in me? 2 Corinthians 13:5, examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith Will he find us sharing our faith with others

Are you ready for Him to return?
