WORKSHOP TRANSITIONAL HOUSING IN PRECINCT BASED URBAN REGENERATION As part of the GAC Equal Spaces Programme in Conjunction with the South African Government

WORSHOP PURPOSES Define purpose of TH in context of urban regeneration Design and implement pragmatic solutions in urban regeneration areas Practical mechanisms to achieve delivery Organisational ingredients to achieve delivery Action and best practice exchanges to enhance implementation Assist metros structure their delivery programme

THE LENS Context: Transitional housing in urban regeneration space Definition: Households living informally who cannot afford alternative formal accommodation in the immediate area. With allocation on temporary or semi permanent basis Delivery: Stretching the envelope. Projects within the context of the existing policy and financial frameworks
