Introduction Students applying to UK universities may be required to sit admissions tests. This will depend upon the university to which you are applying and the course that you hope to study.  For full information, visit the links for the relevant tests, as detailed on the following slides.

Medicine - BMAT Test The Bio-Medical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a subject-specific admissions test taken by applicants to certain medicine, veterinary medicine and related courses at various UK institutions. Medicine – BMAT Leiden Test (Netherlands) The Bio-Medical Admissions Test (BMAT) is a subject-specific admissions test taken by applicants to medicine, biomedical sciences and clinical technology at Leiden university, Netherlands. Classics Admissions Test – CAT The Classics Admissions Test (CAT) is taken by applicants to undergraduate degree courses in Classics at the University of Oxford and to its joint schools. English / Foreign Languages Test – ELAT The ELAT is a pre-interview admissions test for applicants to undergraduate courses in English at the University of Oxford. For a list of courses requiring ELAT, visit below. History Test – HAT The University of Oxford’s Faculty of History is responsible for the setting and development of the History Aptitude Test, including the test format and scoring. International Medical Admissions Test – IMAT Italian universities, with the Italian Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MIUR), offer undergraduate courses that are taught in English and open to applicants outside of Italy. As part of this initiative, six Italian universities are offering a number of places for both home and overseas students to study medicine and surgery. Entry deadline: July 2018 (to be confirmed) Test date: September 2018 (to be confirmed) Venue: select nearest online. There is no test centre in Kuwait. Law – LNAT Test You need to take the LNAT if you are applying for 2017 entry, to a variety of UK undergraduate law programmes. You need to make your own arrangements for registering and sitting the test.  Venue: New Horizons Computer Learning Center, Sharq, Kuwait. Fee: see online for details. Mathematics Aptitude Test - MAT The Mathematics Aptitude Test (MAT) is taken by applicants to the University of Oxford’s undergraduate degree courses in both Mathematics and Computer Science. Test of Mathematics for University Admission If you are applying to study Mathematics courses at Durham University and/or Lancaster University, you are encouraged to take this test as part of your application. Modern Languages Admissions Tests - MLAT The Modern Languages Admissions Tests (MLAT) are taken by applicants to the University of Oxford’s undergraduate degree courses in both Modern Languages and Linguistics. Occupational English Test - OET The Occupational English Test (OET) evaluates the English language competence of qualified health professionals who wish to gain provisional registration to practise their profession in an English-speaking context. For more information on the test and how you can register, visit the OET website at www.occupationalenglishtest.org

Oriental Languages Aptitude Test - OLAT The OLAT is a 30-minute admissions test taken by applicants to certain degree courses in Oriental Studies at the University of Oxford and its joint schools. Physics Aptitude Test - PAT This test is taken by applicants to all undergraduate degree courses in Physics and Engineering at the University of Oxford. Entry deadline: Sunday 01 October 2017 Test date:  Thursday 02 November 2017 Venue: BSK Fee: KD20 http://www.admissionstestingservice.org/for-test-takers/pat/about-pat/

University of Oxford Philosophy Test The Philosophy Test, for Philosophy and Theology candidates, is a test of philosophical reasoning skills. There is no expectation that candidates will have undertaken any formal study of philosophy, and it is not a test of philosophical knowledge. Sixth Term Examination Paper - STEP Test STEP is a well-established Mathematics university admissions test, which is used to help to select very academically able students for courses which are usually oversubscribed. Thinking Skills Assessment - TSA Cambridge The TSA is used for applicants to Land Economy at the University of Cambridge. Candidates take the test at interview, at the College they have applied to. Thinking Skills Assessment – TSA UCL TThe Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) UCL is used for applicants to European Social and Political Studies, and European Social and Political Studies: Dual Degree at UCL. Candidates will be informed when they need to take TSA by the university. UK Clinical Aptitude Test - UKCAT The UK Clinical Aptitude Test is used in the selection process by the majority of UK University Medical and Dental Schools. If you are applying in 2017 for entry to university in 2018 then you should sit the UKCAT by 3rd October 2017. The UKCAT test is available between 3rd July and 3rd October 2017. Entry deadline: Tuesday 19 September 2017 Register yourself and select your preferred test date. Venue: Sharq, Dasman Complex, First Floor Fee: details online.
