Strategic Planning January 16, 2013 - Donors Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session January 31, 2013 – Undergraduate Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session January 31, 2013 – Graduate Distance On-Line Students Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session February 1, 2013 – Employer Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session February 7, 2013 – Research-Based Graduate Students Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session February 7, 2013 – Research Investors Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session February 1 – 15 will hold 7 sessions with degree awarding academic department groupings (working on scheduling those) Will schedule an Undergraduate Targeted Brainstorming Ideation Session in the evening February 26 the Strategic Planning Coalition will hold a Prioritization Session March 12 Innosight Training Date June 1 is targeted completion date

Office of International Affairs Spring semester began January 22nd with orientation, placement testing and registration. English Language Proficiency testing for new students was conducted January 15th and results and recommendations were forwarded to campus administrators on January 18th.

Office of International Affairs 11 new sponsored students from Thailand arrived January 12th. We hosted 4 representatives from the Royal Thai Embassy who traveled with the arriving students. 4 new Brazil Scientific Mobility Program (BSMP) students arrived this week. Missouri S&T will host a total of 15 BSMP students for SP2013.

Enrollment Management Spring 2013 enrollment first day of classes was up 2.7% (6,111) on-campus and 12.3% (742) off-campus. Total enrollment is up 3.6% (6,853). First freshman PRO registration day for Fall 2013 is February 23.

Enrollment Management Bridgette Betz is the new Director of Student Financial Assistance, replacing Lynn Stichnote. $28.8 M of total financial aid disbursed for Spring 2013, an increase of 11.2% from last year.

Office of Sponsored Programs FY13 activities through the end of December and a year-over-year comparison are as follows: Proposals awarded in total dollars: $39.8M (up 239.4%) Number of proposals awarded and amendments: 135 (down 3.6%) Proposals submitted in total dollars: $78.1M (up 8.1%) Number of proposals submitted: 249 (up 4.6%) Research expenditures: $19.9M (down 9.1%) F&A recovered: $3.3M (down 8.4%) Number of active awards: 562 (down 4.3%) 6
