Classroom Rules Listen carefully. Follow directions. Work quietly. Respect school and personal properties. Respect yourself and others. Be kind with words and actions. Work and play safely. Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself

Positive Behavior Rewards Class Coupons - Room 11 store will be open on Fridays at the end of the day Table Points - Early recess dismissal for the group that earns the most points Class Block Jar - Movie with popcorn or ice cream PBIS tokens for school wide celebrations Classroom awards, REACH Award, Principal’s Award, & HAWK Pride Award

Negative Behavior Consequences Warning Card pull (yellow, orange, & red) Half detention (7 minutes) at 10 o’clock recess Full detention at 10 o’clock recess Principal’s office and contact parents

Daily Routines & Procedures Be prepared when you come to school by bringing your homework binder, books, and necessary materials to class Turn in your homework assignments in the designated homework basket Work on DLI worksheet or practice spelling Follow the instructions throughout the day Clean your area when the work is done and before leave the classroom Write down the homework assignments and take the necessary materials to home

Bullying Repeated imbalance of power: Name calling Rumor spreading Verbal abuse Social isolation Physical acts Cyber Bullying

Name Calling & Profanity policy First Offense: Lose a recess and contact parents Second Offense: Lose recess for 1 to 5 days and contact parents Third Offense: Time out in the office or in another classroom and contact parents Fourth Offense: Suspension from school for 1 to 5 days. Will go on the student’s record and contact parents

Bathroom No bathroom visits after the bell rings No throwing paper towels in toilets, urinals, or sinks No locking doors and crawling under the stall - Notify a teacher or noon supervisors Throw trash in the trashcan Wash hands Follow PBIS Behavior Report any issues to a teacher or the office

Snack Area Location: Under the trees at specific tables Throw away your trash after eating No sharing of snacks!

Detention Area Half detention: 7 minutes Full detention No eating snacks or bathroom visits Full detention Eating and bathroom visits allowed (at the beginning of the detention)

Basketball Court No more than 5 players on a team No more than 2 teams playing a game Students causing problems on the court will lose the privilege to play

Hula Hoop and Jump Rope Area Location: inside “Jupiter” and the space next to it

Handball Court 3rd Grade handball court Brick wall outside bathrooms: any grade level at and after 10 o’clock recess Students who are causing problems on the court will lose the privilege to play No saving spots First serve must be a normal serve Whole line votes when there is a disagreement No chanting for someone to “win” or “lose” Encourage the person whose out -PBIS

Tetherball Court Play at the third grade tetherball court PE Rules apply Out if you touch the rope Must retire as champion and go back to the end of the line if you win three games in a row

Playground Equipments No flipping or hanging upside down on bars or cheese ball No blocking the slide at the top No climbing up the slide Follow a circular, counterclockwise rotation Only one student goes down the slide at a time

Swings Stand and count where the woodchips meet the blue composite The counting begins when a student starts swinging Count to 25: Swinging forward is “1” then back is “2” Count loud enough for the student on the swing to hear When counting reaches to 25, the person on the swing exits. NO JUMPING!

Grass Field Soccer and Kickball - By the storage bin or on the far field near the backstop, but not near the snack tables Running is allowed on the grass field May play with nature or dig (not excessive) along the fence Do not play on the grass field before- school recess (7:45 A.M.) Do not go behind the storage container toward the upper grade field No climbing the hill or eating plants

Lunch Area No running, jumping, or hopping Lunch table: Sit at any third grade tables When done eating, throw away lunch and trash, clean the surrounding area, raise hand to get permission to be dismissed by the noon supervisors Walk along the hawk feet No running, jumping, or hopping No cutting across the grass area between the building and the library
