Key Vocabulary There are some words that are used frequently in our sentences. It is helpful to know how to read and spell these words.

Tricky Words Some common words are tricky to spell. Quite often only PART of the word gives us problems. For example: PEOPLE Can you think which parts of this spelling are easy or tricky?

Try saying these unstressed words as you say the word. What did you think? In the word people we have some letters that we don’t hear when we say the word. This can sometimes make words tricky. pe o pl e Not heard Try saying these unstressed words as you say the word.
