Presentation transcript:

This is the easiest way to deliver a Red Nose Day assembly in your school! It will help your students understand why they are fundraising and inspire them to raise money for Red Nose Day 2015, which is on Friday 13th March. Use ‘Rabecca’s story’, our short film about an 18-year-old girl from Zambia, who, along with her younger brother and sister, was orphaned two years ago. The film can be streamed or DOWNLOADED at rednoseday.com/rabecca Your students will learn about how Rabecca’s life changed when she was orphaned. They’ll also see how money raised through Red Nose Day is helping turn lives around by supporting children like Rabecca to go to school.

This Red Nose Day, the money raised by the great British public will help vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the UK and in Africa. And Comic Relief is setting schools a special mission – to raise enough money to get 300,000 children across Africa into education and learning. And the best bit is that the UK government will double the money UK schools raise.   [[*The UK government is doubling the money raised up to £10 million so let’s aim for nine million, nine hundred and ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine pounds and ninety-nine pence!]]

Show your students this film about Rabecca, an 18-year-old girl from Zambia who could no longer afford to go to school when her parents died. The film will help your students understand the challenges faced by some children and the way Comic Relief money helps.   This film can be streamed or DOWNLOADED from rednoseday.com/rabecca

Make your face funny for money Target practice! What does everyone need to remember on Friday 13th March?   [add instruction, e.g. dress in red] [add instruction, e.g. bring in £1] [add instruction, e.g. remember to go to the sports hall at lunchtime to take part in the sponsored dance] [etc.] Dress up Use this slide to set out everything you’re going to do for Red Nose Day. You can replace the images and captions on the side with your own pictures and ideas. Make your face funny for money

Use this slide to help students understand the difference every penny raised can make. These amounts have been chosen to illustrate the difference small amounts of money raised can make. If you would like to talk about larger amounts, for example to encourage Houses or tutor groups to think about fundraising targets, you can find examples at the end of this presentation.
