Customer Service: Accountability © 2008 Brigham Young University–Idaho

Accountability “Responsibility may be bestowed, but accountability must be taken. In other words, responsibility can be given or received, even assumed, but that doesn’t automatically guarantee that personal accountability will be taken. It’s possible to bear responsibility for something or someone and still lack accountability.” - Accountability vs. Responsibility

Accountability What is Your Role? Know what is expected of you in your current position. Own Your Role: Take ownership of your assignments.

Accountability Be Committed: When you say you are going to do something, do it. Don’t Procrastinate: Prioritize and finish your assignments in a timely manner.

Accountability Be Honest: Acknowledge mistakes and do your best to fix them. Ask for help if you need it. Apologize: If you’ve fallen short admit it and remember to apologize.

0 Excuses 100% Accountability 0/100

Accountability Set Goals What do you expect from yourself? Improve Yourself Seek opportunities for improvement

Accountability “When performance is measured, performance improves. When performance is measured and reported, the rate of improvement accelerates.” – Thomas S. Monson
