The Beginning The first electronically powered digital computer was invented in 1944 was made by Tommy Flowers. The computer’s name was the Colossus Mark 1. Was used as a decryption device

The 60’s The third generation in computing began in 1965. The mass use of computers accelerated with this new generation. They were mostly used for calculations, and connecting phone calls. Dial-up was made

The 70’s ARPANET grew and advanced. In 1972, researchers sent out the first email message using the name@domain.com we still use today. The first school network was set up at the University of Iowa Apple II released In 1977

The 80’s Hewlett Packard introduces its HP-85. A microcomputer with 16kB of RAM and a 5-inch CRT display. During the cold war, The first educational drill program is developed for personal computers. The AOL service opened, making much easier access to talk to one another. Graphical games became popular

The 90’s Computers at work were mostly used for keeping records of things. AOL became more popular as computer systems improved making a computers a more social friendly device. School computers were primarily used for typing essays.

The 2000’s Internet expands further than could have ever been predicted, used by almost everyone for online research, communication, games, and more. 2004, Facebook is released. Everyone could contact each other at anytime they are on their computer and look at their photos. Educationally, they were mostly used research and to work on projects. Companies use computers to help expand business opportunities.

2010-Present Computers are in nearly every classroom and are used to much educational videos, type essays, and do research. Computers at work are common, used to keep records and files, do calculations, and assist the employees with their jobs. Socially, computers can do just about anything, social networking has become daily life for most, and there is now video calling. You can contact anyone, at anytime, almost anywhere.
