Year 4 Opossum Residential 29th -30th June 2018 Parent/carer meeting Tuesday 17th April, 3:30pm

Planning All planning is submitted to Clive Atkins, outdoor education advisor for Waltham Forest prior to the event. Liz Brandon and Susan Biggar have completed a risk assessment (Full assessment of accommodation, meals and activities) Put together an itinerary which encompasses back-up plans (wet weather) 2nd Year

Itinerary Friday 29th June: Arrive at school at 5:30pm Register taken Place bags in Year 3 and Year 4 classrooms (boys to use Year 3 classrooms and toilets) (girls to use Year 4 classrooms and toilets) Ms Biggar and Mrs Brandon to debrief, fire and night time procedures Activity groups Rounders Match on basketball pitch Football Bingo Charades Skipping etc

Evening Meal Served in the new hall Pasta/vegetable sauce ,pizza,, salad, jelly and ice cream

Activity 3-Film Films will be shown in two classrooms so that children can choose which they prefer to watch. Both films shown will be U rated.

Sleeping Arrangements The school is compliant with all health and safety regulations. Males and females are in separate wings of the upper floor. Once inside the classrooms, the doors will be closed and children will not be allowed to go between rooms. Male teachers are located in separate rooms off the Year 3 wing. Female teachers are located in separate rooms off the Year 4 wing. Gate and doors locked. AP, LMc, MB and AR to have keys. Site officer to secure the site once child inside. No one is to leave the building after that time. Fire doors closed No mid-night snacks Choking , allergic reactions

What to pack? On the day the following should be worn. Trainers 1 pair of trousers (jeans, leggings or track suit bottoms) 1 T-shirt 1 jumper/hoodie Kit List: 1 Water bottle 1 sleeping bag/ blanket/quilt 1 pillow Pyjamas/slippers Underwear x2 Toiletries- toothbrush and paste Small towel Medication- given to LB/SB on arrival at Thorpe Hall No mid-night snacks Choking , allergic reactions

Preparing your child... Behaviour: expectations are the same as in school, irresponsible and poor behaviour will not be tolerated. If necessary parents will be called to escort their child home. Bed times and sleeping expectations- strictly adhered to. Being tolerant of each other. Managing time and belongings. Reassuring your child of who to go to for help/ if they are worried. No mid-night snacks or sharing food.

Last but not least... Final payments made via Parent Pay £5 to cover the cost of a school dinner and breakfast. Completed medical forms returned to the Oakhill school office. Questions?
