Developing your skills in Photoshop!! Photomontages Module 11 Developing your skills in Photoshop!!

A Photomontage is a "photographic image" that is created by cutting and joining portions of a number of other images. Types Cut and Paste Layer Blends Silhouette Modular

Cut and Paste Tierney Roberts Tierney Roberts Use portions of at least 3 different photos to create a “seamless” look Use Photoshop Selection Tools, Feathering, Quick Mask Upload all original images used!!

Layer Blending Using at least 3 photos to create a subtle transition look through fading and blending. Use Layer Blending options, Quick Mask mode with the gradient, and Feathering Upload all original images used! Kara h Kara H.

Silhouette Use Selection Tools to select a silhouette of any shape (doesn’t have to be a person) Bring that selected silhouette shape into another photo OR Bring another photo into the PSD document and set behind the cut-out.

Silhouette Create 3 separate montages and put together in a Triptych arrangement. Upload all original images used!!

Modular A "Modular" look made from at least 3 original photos…different angles, subject distance, and module size create more visual interest. Upload all originals!

Choose TWO of these types of Photomontages to create on your own. You must use portions from at least 3 photos for each montage. (one may be a background layer, so you might use the whole image) Save them as .jpgs and name them "Photomontage 1" and "Photomontage 2" upload to FlickR along with all the original images. (33 points each) How many images are uploaded to FlickR will depend on how many original image files you used to create your Photomontage! Minimum will be 4 (3 originals and your Montage). In the Description Field for each of the final images include 3-5 sentences that explain your concept/idea and the process (Blending modes and PS tools used) of creating the image.
